This policy explains how ClearWords handles information when you use the app.
Information processed
ClearWords processes the English words you enter so it can return simpler meanings. Those words may be sent to our backend service and to a third-party AI provider that generates the explanation.
Limited technical information may also be processed to keep the service secure and reliable. This may include information needed for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, troubleshooting, and service reliability.
How information is used
We use submitted words and limited technical information to provide and maintain ClearWords, generate simplified meanings, prevent misuse, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information and do not use advertising trackers.
Service providers
User-submitted words may be transmitted to service providers for processing. These third parties may process data under their own privacy policies and terms. Apple processes subscription purchases and related payment information under Apple’s policies.
Data choices and retention
Avoid submitting words or text that contains sensitive or personal information. Information may be retained only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service, subject to provider practices and legal requirements.

We may update this policy as ClearWords changes. The date above shows the latest revision.
